After a diverse work background from an electrician to Prison Officer, formal Christian Ministry commenced for me in 1995 at Westview Baptist Church, Doonside. Having completed a Bachelor of Ministries and Diploma of Theology at Morling College, I was ordained and accredited by the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT. I served in local church ministry in Western Sydney, serving twice on the Committee for Ministry for the Baptist Association, a committee which facilitated the accreditation of Baptist Ministers, concluding the last 4 years as Chair. During that time I also attain a MA (Theology) from Morling College.
After two decades in local church ministry, I felt called by God to work in the area of Church Health. Having negotiated the succession of the pastoral role at Westview, I commenced in this new role with Greater West for Christ (GWFC), the regional ministry of the Baptist Association in Western Sydney, in 2016.
During that time with GWFC, I served in five Baptist churches in the region as a transitional pastor, seeking to clarify vision, purpose, mission, and values, preparing them for the next era, assisting the calling of a new pastor.
My Church Health focus continues today, however the additional component of that is in the area of Pastoral Supervision. The Royal Commission into Institutionalised Child Abuse highlighted the need for Pastoral Supervision, and churches can only be as healthy as those who lead them. God’s call upon my life is to be an enabler for Christian Ministry, so I completed a Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Supervision through St Marks National Theological Centre and have embarked on my purpose to build up Christian ministers with integrity of heart and skilful hands. My vision in this area is to passionately pursue the growth of Christ’s body, the church, forming, supporting and aligning Christian ministers to best practice, powerfully and effectively serving God in their area of calling.
My values are clear:
I believe that with this purpose, vision and values, I am working towards my personal purpose of making passionate disciples of Jesus, through those who serve God through the local church and parachurch organisations.
